Beverly and Richard Spann

Welcome to the Kansas Communities Ministry Web site!  As director of the Kansas Communities Ministry, it is my desire that we provide the information and contacts with individuals that will help complete God’s purpose in your life. In addition, please note my blog here.

I was first introduced to The Navigators in 1972, after being invited to attend a Memorize the Word course.  Through that course, I met Jim Morris, the former director of the Kansas ministry.  He invested time with me weekly, sharing  his life as we looked at God’s word and prayed together.  The Lord used that time together to reveal to me the importance of the individual, and the importance of the Word of God, these two being distinctive features of The Navigators ministry.  Since that time, I have seen the value of investing deeply in the lives of others, preparing them for the ministry the Lord has for them.  One of the key verses that the Lord has used in my life is Colossians 1:28,29. In the Phillips version, it is stated like this, “So, naturally, we proclaim Christ! We warn everyone  we meet, and we teach everyone we can, all that we know about Him, so that, if possible, we may bring every man up to his full maturity in Christ.  This is what I am working at all the time, with all the strength that God gives me.”

I reside in Wichita, Kansas with my wife, Beverly.  We have been married 48 years.  We have two daughters, both of whom are married and have blessed us with a total of seven grandchildren.  In addition to my position with The Navigators, I volunteer with the World Impact mobile medical ministry in Wichita.

I would encourage you to be a part of our yearly conferences.  In addition, a number of small groups meet periodically throughout the state.  These focus on evangelism, discipleship, and memorizing God’s word.  Many of our team members help with the leadership of these groups.  Let our office know of your location and interests.  We would be pleased to be a part of God’s work in and through your life!

In Christ,

Richard Spann.
